Garden City, N.Y. – Former Adelphi men's lacrosse standouts, Joe Vitale '12 (pictured) and Donny Moss '09 will square off against each other wearing jerseys of their respective Major League Lacrosse (MLL) teams this Saturday. Vitale was recently drafted to the Charlotte Hounds while Moss has been playing with the Hamilton Nationals.

Vitale appeared in one game for the Hounds, making his professional debut on July 20 when they took on the Rochester Rattlers. The Lynbrook, N.Y. native was the 57th overall pick in the MLL draft earlier this year. In a Panther uniform, the midfielder led the team during the 2012 campaign with 39 goals, 27 assists and 66 points en route to being named a first-team USILA All-American, his second straight honor.

Additionally, he had five game winning goals, six man-up tallies and scooped up 30 ground balls. Vitale was also named an All-Northeast-10 Conference First Team selection. Over his four-year career, he amassed a total of 199 points which places him fifth all-time in Adelphi's Donny Moss '09 plays for the Hamilton Nationals record books.

Moss has played in 11 out of 12 games for the Nationals this year. The Rochester, N.Y. native netted four goals and scored a two-point goal for five points to go along with five ground balls. His college career started at Herkimer County Community College where he was a first-team All-American and the Region III Defensive Player of the Year.

He then enrolled at Adelphi, donning the Brown and Gold at defense, and started in 10 games while appearing in 11 of them. He was second on the team in ground balls with 39 while helping the Panthers to a 4-8 record during the 2009 season.

The Hounds and Nationals both currently sit at 3-9 in the MLL standings. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start on Saturday, August 4 at Ron Joyce Stadium in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
