Defending National Champion Penmen Place Five on First Team All-Conference
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Southern New Hampshire University, the defending NE-10 and National Champions, placed five student-athletes on the 2014 Northeast-10 Conference First Team, including Callum Williams, who was named the Conference's Player of the Year by the league's head coaches.

So. New Hampshire, who won the regular season title, had nine student-athletes named All-Conference, while Southern Connecticut State University had six, which was the second-most selections.
Williams, the Conference's Defensive Player of the Year in 2013, has spearheaded a Penmen defense that has only allowed 11 goals in 17 games so far this season. The graduate student from Ossett, England has also contributed on the offensive end, scoring two goals and adding an assist for So. New Hampshire, who host Merrimack College in an NE-10 Semifinal Game Friday night. Williams was also named a First Team All-Conference selection.
So. Connecticut, who finished second during the NE-10 regular season, had two student-athletes receive major awards: Chae Brangman was named the league's Rookie of the Year, while Sebastian Brems was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Year.
Brangman, in his first year on campus, has helped lead the Owls' offense as he has scored six goals so far this season, and added three assists. His six goals are tied for the 11th-most in the conference, and his 15 total points is tied for 15th overall. Brangman was also a Third Team All-League selection by the coaches.
Brangman's teammate, Sebastian Brems, was selected as the 2014 NE-10 Defensive Player of the Year. Brems has helped lead So. Connecticut to a 14-3 mark this season, including 10-3 in NE-10 play. The Owls have only allowed 17 goals in their 17 games this season, and Brems has been the leader for that defensive unit.
The Northeast-10 head coaches tabbed Merrimack's Jose Silva as the league's Goalkeeper of the Year for the second consecutive season. Silva had another solid season in net for the Warriors, as he was among the league leaders in virtually every statistical category. The senior has posted seven shutouts so far in 2014 is tied for the second-most currently, and his 12 wins are tied for the third-most in the league.
Silva has posted a .783 save percentage, tied for third, and his 54 saves are eighth best in the league. He was also named an NE-10 First Team All-Conference selection.
Stonehill College's Jim Reddish was voted by his peers as the NE-10 Coach of the Year. Reddish led the Skyhawks to the best finish in the league in 20 years, as Stonehill finished with a record of 9-4 in NE-10 play, and 11-6-1 overall. Coming off a 5-10-1 season a year ago, Reddish led Stonehill to the fourth seed in the NE-10 Championship, however, they were defeated by Merrimack in the Quarterfinal Round Tuesday. It's the first time he's been recognized with this honor, and he also saw two of his student-athletes selected for All-Conference accolades.
