Geremia Tabbed Attacker of the Year; Ast Dubbed Defender of the Year

IWLCA Award Winners

VALLEY FORGE, Pa. – A trio of Northeast-10 women's lacrosse student-athletes, Le Moyne's Erica Geremia (pictured) and New Haven's Brittany Ast and Christina Luca, have earned national awards by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), it was announced at the All-American Banquet held at the Radisson Hotel Valley Forge over the weekend.

Geremia was selected as the IWLCA Attacker of the Year, while Ast was tabbed as the Division II Defender of the Year.

Luca was honored as well, earning the IWLCA Community Awareness Award.

The Northeast-10 Player of the Year, Geremia was the Division III Attacker of the Year in 2014 with SUNY Cortland. She led the country in total points with 121, a new Le Moyne single-season record, on 67 goals and 54 assists this season.

A two-time IWLCA All-American, Ast picked up 55 ground balls and caused 27 turnovers this season. The senior defender also scored four goals ad handed out a pair of assists as well.

The Northeast-10 Conference is an association of 15 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that is committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for more than 6,500 student-athletes. 

Each year, 4,500 of those student-athletes compete in conference championships in 24 sports, making the NE-10 the largest DII conference in the country in terms of sport sponsorship.
