Panthers Claim Top Seed in Upcoming NE-10 Women’s Soccer Championship

Quarterfinals Begin Tuesday

CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL

MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Adelphi Panthers have collected the top seed in the 2015 Northeast-10 Women's Soccer Championship, which is set to begin with quarterfinal action on Tuesday.

Currently riding a nine-game win streak, Adelphi (14-2-2, 12-0-2 NE-10) ran through NE-10 play without suffering a single defeat to earn the regular season crown. The Panthers will host No. 8 seed Southern Connecticut (6-7-1 NE-10) on Tuesday in the quarterfinals at 7 p.m.

Saint Rose, which is nationally ranked in National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll along with Adelphi, garnered the No. 2 seed. The Golden Knights (14-2-2, 12-2 NE-10) will host seventh-seeded New Haven (10-5-3, 6-5-3) at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

American International (12-5-1, 10-3-1 NE-10) claimed the third seed and will play host to No. 6 seed Assumption (10-7, 8-6) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Southern New Hampshire (11-4-2, 9-3-2) was tabbed as the No. 4 seed and will welcome fifth-seeded Merrimack (11-4-3, 8-4-2) for a 4 p.m. match in Tuesday's quarterfinals. 

Semifinal matches will take place on Friday, Nov. 6 and will be hosted by the two highest remaining seeds. The finals of the 2015 Northeast-10 Women's Soccer Championship, which will be hosted by the highest remaining seed, is set for Sunday, Nov. 8.
