Women’s Soccer All-Conference Teams, Award Winners Revealed

MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Women’s Soccer Regular Season Champion Adelphi Panthers have been honored with four major awards headlined by Player of the Year Laura Gomez, as the league revealed its all-conference teams and award winners on Friday.

Along with Gomez, Adelphi had the Defensive Player of the Year – Taylor Groth, Goalkeeper of the Year – Anne Marie Ulliac, as well as the Coach of the Year – Brooke DeRosa.

For a complete list of all-conference members and award winners, as voted upon by the league's head coaches, please see below.

Gomez helped lead the nationally ranked Panthers to the top seed in the NE-10 Championship with a conference record of 12-0-2. She is second in the conference in goals with 10 and is tied for third in the NE-10 with five game-winning goals. Gomez also has a team-leading 24 points and four assists to her credit on the season.

DeRosa guided the Panthers to the regular season crown in just her first season as Adelphi’s head coach. Under DeRosa, Adelphi is up to No. 12 in the country, as the Panthers went through NE-10 action without suffering a single loss and ended the regular season on a nine-game winning streak.

Groth and Ulliac led the way for the league’s stingiest defense this season. The Panthers allowed just 11 goals all season and only gave up six goals in 14 NE-10 contests, best in the conference. Groth scored one game-winning goal for Adelphi, while Ulliac, who is only a freshman, leads the NE-10 in goals-against average and is tied for the league lead in shutouts.

Assumption’s Kallie Villemaire was chosen as the NE-10 Rookie of the Year after a strong first season with the Greyhounds. Villemaire, who landed on the All-Conference Second Team as well, ranks in the top-10 in the conference in goals (8) and points (19) while scoring two game-winners.

Adelphi had the most first-team selections with five and had seven all-conference members in total. Defending NE-10 Champion Saint Rose had eight honored, while American International had seven honorees as well.
