Seven Players Earn All-Met Recognition.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Pace’s Peyton Wejnert and Adelphi’s Leonie Edringer have been named the All-Met Division II Players of the Year, while Adelphi women’s basketball coach Missy Traversi was tabbed Coach of the Year, when the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) awards were announced this week.

In total, seven players from the Northeast-10 Conference were recognized for MBWA awards – four from Pace and three from Adelphi.

Wejnert is joined by Adelphi’s Ronnie Silva on the All-Met First Team, while his Pace teammate Brandon Jacobs landed a spot on the All-Met Second Team. Wejnert and Silva add to their postseason recognition, as both were NE10 First Team All-Conference selections.

Adelphi’s Katie Murphy and Pace’s Jackie DelliSanti join Edringer on the All-Met First Team on the women’s side, while Pace’s Lauren Schetter earned a place on the Second Team. Edringer and DelliSanti were both NE10 First Team All-Conference honorees this season.

Wejnert, a D2CCA All-Region and NABC All-District selection this season, led the league with 23.5 points per game and ranked third in rebounds with 9.2 per contest. On March 10, Wejnert was named the Academic All-America Team Member of the Year by CoSIDA for his outstanding work in the classroom.

Edringer, recognized as a D2CCA All-Region and WBCA All-America Honorable Mention, ranked ninth in the NE10 in points per game (15.1) and third in rebounds (9.6). A native of Trier, Germany, Edringer recorded 14 double-doubles this season for the Panthers – who finished the season with a 27-3 mark.

Traversi led the Panthers to a top-10 national ranking in the WBCA Poll this season, going a remarkable 27-3 and earning the right to host the NCAA East Regional before postseason basketball was cancelled. Adelphi also won the Southwest Division regular season title and was the overall No. 1 seed heading into the NE10 Tournament.
