NABC RELEASE - 30-UNDER-30 TEAM
Champion Led Dolphins to Southwest Division Title in 2019-20.
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Le Moyne men's basketball coach Nate Champion is proudly representing the Northeast-10 Conference on the 2020 Under Armour 30-Under-30 Team, as announced by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) on Tuesday morning.
The 30-Under-30 Team represents 30 of the most outstanding men's college basketball coaches in the country who are under the age of 30. Champion joins a list of 29 other men's basketball coaches that span all NCAA divisions.
In his first year at the helm in 2019-20, Champion led the Dolphins to their fourth-straight NE10 Southwest Division title with a 15-4 record in league games. Le Moyne finished the season with a 19-9 overall record and was selected to play in the NCAA East Regional, before the COVID-19 shutdown cancelled the tournament.
Champion, a 2014 graduate of Le Moyne, returned to his alma mater last season after assistant coaching tenures at both Stonehill (2016-17) and Florida Southern (2017-19).
He played 100 games for the Dolphins as a student-athlete, recording 1,258 points, 468 assists, 391 rebounds and 127 steals. As a senior in 2013-14, he led Le Moyne to the NCAA postseason for the first time in 17 seasons and was named NE10 Third Team All-Conference.
