MANSFIELD, Mass. - The Northeast-10 Conference Men's Basketball Championship narrowed down to four teams on Sunday in the quarterfinal round, highlighted by upset victories for Franklin Pierce and New Haven, to set up semifinal games on Wednesday night - both of which will be played at 7 p.m. on NE10NOW.tv

New Haven, the fifth seed out of the Northeast, edged the Southwest's top seed Le Moyne to pull-off the biggest upset of the day - while Franklin Pierce, the third seed in the Northeast - held off Adelphi, the two seed in the Southwest. The Chargers (SW5) will travel to play Stonehill (NE2), while Franklin Pierce (NE3) will compete against in-state rival Saint Anselm (NE1).

No. 5 New Haven 75, No. 1 Le Moyne 73 - Box Score

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Le Moyne Dolphins gave everything they could in the final minutes but the New Haven men's basketball team held on, advancing to the Northeast-10 semifinal round for the second straight year and the third time since joining the league, escaping Ted Grant Court with a 75-73 victory over the Dolphins. The Chargers will travel to Stonehill on Wednesday night to take on the No. 2 seed from the Northeast Division with a date in the NE10 Championship on the line. Tip off from Merkert Gymnasium is slated for 7:00 p.m.

Leading the Chargers on the night were four of their five starters who racked up double digits in the scoring column with much of the Chargers onslaught coming from outside the three point arc where they finished 10-of-20 overall. Individually, senior Elijah Bailey and sophomore Quashawn Lane each scored a team-best 16 points to lead the New Haven offense. Following the pair was senior Kessly Felizor and redshirt junior Derrick Rowland who finished with 15 and 11 points, respectively.

No. 1 Saint Anselm 82, No. 4 Pace 77 - Box Score

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm men's basketball team picked up an 82-77 victory over the Setters from Pace on Sunday in the Northeast-10 Conference quarterfinals.

Saint Anselm, the top seed from the Northeast Division of the NE10, improves to 19-8 overall on the year. The Hawks will host Franklin Pierce, the third seed in the Northeast Division, this Wednesday, Mar. 5 at 7 p.m. in Stoutenburgh Gymnasium. Playing on the road, the Ravens topped Adelphi in a one-possession game on Sunday.

Five starters reached double-digit scoring totals for the Hawks, led by sophomore Miles Tention and his 20 points off of six treys and two free throws. Junior Chris Paul scored 15 points with seven assists and six rebounds and was followed by 14-point performances by classmate Gustav Suhr-Jessen and freshman Tyler Arbuckle.

No. 2 Stonehill 86, No. 3 Southern Connecticut 71 - Box Score

EASTON, Mass. – Northeast Division No. 2 seed Stonehill, ranked No. 6 in the NCAA Division II East Regional rankings, shot nearly 60-percent from the field and placed six in double figures on its way to an 86-71 victory over Southwest No. 3 Southern Connecticut State in quarterfinal round action of the 2020 Northeast-10 Conference men's basketball tournament on Paula Sullivan Court at Merkert Gymnasium this afternoon.

Stonehill (18-10, 13-6 NE10) advances to the NE10 semifinals for the first time since 2016 and will host Southwest No. 5 New Haven at Merkert Gym on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Chargers are in the semifinals for the second-straight year after notching a pair of tournament wins over the last three days, including a 75-73 upset of Southwest top-seed Le Moyne (19-9, 15-4 NE10) in a quarterfinal in Syracuse, New York, this afternoon. Southern Connecticut State sees its season close at 16-11 overall, including 11-8 in the NE10.

No. 3 Franklin Pierce 76, No. 2 Adelphi 74 - Box Score

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – The No. 9 regionally-ranked Franklin Pierce men's basketball Temple Hills, Maryland tandem of Isaiah Moore and Doyin Fadojutimi carried the Ravens to a 76-74 victory in the Northeast-10 Conference quarterfinals Sunday afternoon against No. 10 regionally-ranked Adelphi at the Center For Recreation and Sport.

With the win, the Ravens (16-11) advance to the NE10 semifinals and travel to Saint Anselm (18-8) for a 7:00 p.m. bout on Wednesday night. The loss ends the Panthers' season at 18-11. Adelphi had two chances for the game-tying bucket with one second to go, but both of their layup attempts were heavily contested at the rim.

Moore, who has been virtually unguardable over the past month exploded for a career-high 29 points, with 18 coming in the second half. The sophomore point guard played a team-high 35 minutes, was 10-for-14 (71.4%) from the hardwood, 3-of-6 (50%) from beyond the arc and 6-for-7 (85.7%) at the line. Moore dished out a contest-best six assists, came down with three rebounds while having a steal and a block.
