BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The University of Bridgeport is excited to be hosting the first three rounds of the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship this weekend. However, because of the recently confirmed cases of COVID-19 and Governor of Connecticut Ned Lamont's declaration of a State of Emergency in Connecticut, the school has decided to follow the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidance for large gatherings. The NCAA Division II East Regional will be held on UB's campus without spectators.
The University of Bridgeport is not making a determination about University of Bridgeport events at this time. We will continue to evaluate the current situation and assess large events on a case-by-case basis. We regret any inconvenience to student-athletes, their families and fans.
