Three NE10 Players Earn All-American Status.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – History was made on Tuesday as the Northeast-10 Conference produced Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Americans for the first time in more than 20 years, with Adelphi’s Barbie Quagliardi and Nicole Kielan and Southern New Hampshire’s Willem van Biezen earning ITA honors.

For Adelphi, it is the program’s first All-American nod since 1994, while it is the first for SNHU in school history. van Biezen earned All-American honors as a singles player, while Quagliardi and Kielan were an All-American doubles team. Bryant's Roman Pavlik was the last NE10 student-athlete to achieve All-American status in 1996.

van Biezen went 8-5 during the abbreviated season, including a perfect 5-0 in the singles bracket of the ITA East Regional Championships from Sept. 13-16 en route to capturing the title. Willem was 8-3 in doubles action with his brother, Bas, while ranking as high as No. 14 in the nation in singles. He was ranked the top singles player in the East Region.

As a No. 1 doubles team, Quagliardi and Kielan went a remarkable 18-4 record in the fall and spring seasons, which included a near-perfect 9-1 record in NE10 play. The duo was the East Region’s No. 2 regionally-ranked team, capturing the ITA East Region Small College doubles title and advancing to the consolation semifinals of the ITA Cup. Quagliardi and Kielan were also NE10 First Team All-Conference at No. 1 doubles.

Selection criteria for ITA All-Americans was as follows:
