AUSTIN, Texas – Four Northeast-10 basketball student-athletes were recognized with CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), on Wednesday.

Three men’s basketball standouts were acknowledged with this prestigious honor, including one first team memer, while one women’s basketball student-athlete was honored as well. Bentley’s Keegan Hyland landed CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team accolades for the second straight year in a row. Hyland’s teammate Tyler McFarland, New Haven’s Briana Bradford and Saint Rose’s Tyler Sayre were also recognized.

Hyland holds a grade point average of 3.92 in his pursuit of an MBA with a concentration in finance. A native of South Portland, Maine, Hyland recently was selected to the NE-10 All-Conference Second Team after helping Bentley to the Northeast Division title.

McFarland, a senior from Rockport, Maine, garnered second team laurels with a GPA of 3.46 as a mathematical sciences major. A first team all-conference choice this season, McFarland is the leading scorer for the Northeast Division Champion Falcons.

Bradford and Sayre both collected third team honors from CoSIDA for their efforts on the court and in the classroom. Bradford, a senior all-conference first-teamer from Waterbury, Conn., has a 3.78 GPA while majoring in psychology as the league’s second leading scorer this season. Sayre, a second team all-conference member and senior from Garnerville, N.Y., posts a 3.82 GPA as a finance major.

In addition to the four CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, American International’s Brianna Bishop and Stonehill’s Pierce Cumpstone earned Academic All-District honors.
