MANSFIELD, Mass. – A trio of Northeast-10 Conference football student-athletes have earned Academic All-America First Team honors, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), for their outstanding work on the gridiron and in the classroom.

Stonehill's Derek Ivey earned First Team Academic All-America recognition for the second time in his career, while Bentley's Andrew Brazicki and Max Drinon were selected as First Team honorees for the first time. It is the first time since 2016 that the NE10 has produced at least three Academic All-Americans for football.

Due to the large discrepancy of contests played in 2020-21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's CoSIDA Academic All-America selections were based on career statistics. The NE10 did not hold formal competition in the sport of football in 2020.

Ivey, a recent Stonehill graduate, becomes the first football player in program history to become a multi-time First Team Academic All-American (also in 2020). He graduated with a cumulative 3.92 GPA and a Bachelor's Degree in economics. Ivey is a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree and was the recipient of the NE10 Elite 24 Award this past winter for having the highest GPA among all football student-athletes in the Conference.

Brazicki graduated this past May with a 3.70 GPA as a corporate accounting and finance major, on his way to becoming a CoSIDA Academic All-American. He is a two-time Academic All-Conference selection. During the 2019 season, Brazicki rushed for a career-best 541 yards and four touchdowns – helping the Falcons to the NE10 title for the first time since 2010.

Drinon graduated with a 3.56 GPA in supply chain management at Bentley, following two full seasons of being the team's long snapper. He appeared in 18 games as a Falcon, which included the program's run to an NE10 title in 2019. Drinon also received an Academic Achievement Award from the Division II Athletic Directors Association (D2 ADA) in 2019.

Brazicki and Drinon are the 82nd and 83rd Academic All-Americans in Bentley history, while Ivey is one of 30 Academic All-America selections all-time at Stonehill.
