Men's Golf Championship on Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 16-17).
MANSFIELD, Mass. – For the second-straight season, Assumption - the two-time reigning league champion - has been picked as the favorite heading into the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Golf Championship on Monday and Tuesday. The Greyhounds received 73 points and six first-place votes in the NE10 Pre-Championship Poll, as announced by the league office on Friday afternoon.
Led by head coach John O'Hara, Assumption will try to win its fourth NE10 title in program history when the Championship begins at Twin Hills Country Club in Longmeadow, Mass. The first round will consist of 36 holes on Monday, beginning at 8 a.m. with split tee times. Tuesday's final round will be 18 holes and start at 9 a.m. American International will serve as the host and live scoring will be available on GolfStat.
Southern New Hampshire finished second in the Pre-Championship Poll with 64 points and two first-place votes, while Adelphi was a close third with 61 points and two first-place votes. Franklin Pierce (60 points) and Bentley (55 points) rounded-out the top five in the poll.
Assumption has won three of the past four NE10 Championships, dating back to the 2019-20 season. The Greyhounds won the 2022 NE10 Championship by four strokes over Southern New Hampshire, highlighted by top-five finishes from Jack Moy and Mitchell Tarrio. If Assumption successfully defends its league title, it will become the first NE10 program to win three-straight men's golf championships since Bryant (2003-05).
