NE10 Player of the Week
Jenna Devens, Saint Michael's
Junior l Pitcher/Infielders l Parsippany, N.J.
Devens slashed .500/.786/.682 while walking eight times during a six-game week, when she posted a 1.31 ERA with a 1-1 record and 10 strikeouts in 16 innings in the circle. Devens reached base in five games, getting walked six times in a Tuesday twinbill at Saint Anselm before ending the season with three consecutive two-hit games, which included two walks against Southern Connecticut State in Saturday's nightcap. She yielded one earned run with five strikeouts in a 5-3 win over New Haven on Friday before surrendering two runs as the hard-luck loser in a 2-0 setback to the Owls on Saturday.
NE10 Pitcher of the Week
Gisselle Garcia, Pace
Junior l Pitcher l Lemon Grove, Calif.
Garcia had a 0.33 ERA in 21.0 innings throughout the week. In three complete-game performances, she tallied 33 strikeouts surrendering only nine hits and one earned run in her 3-0 week in the circle.
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Julianna Colbert, Southern New Hampshire
Freshman l Pitcher l Burrillville, R.I.
Colbert helped the Penmen to a pair of wins over Adelphi and Pace. She went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA (1 unearned run in 10.2 innings). She beat Adelphi with a complete game on Friday and then worked 3.2 innings of one-hit relief in the win over Pace on Saturday. Colbert struck out a combined seven batters in the two games.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Lindsey Hibbs, Adelphi (Sr., P - Brampton, Ontario, Canada)
Hibbs threw 34 strikeouts over three complete games, with an ERA of just 1.33 to help the Panthers clinch a share of the regular season championship.
Kaitlyn Cahill, Assumption (So., C/OF - Grafton, Mass.)
Cahill slashed .455/.571/.636 on a 4-0 week for the Greyhounds, where they locked up their fourth regular season championship in program history. She tallied five hits, two doubles, three walks and three steals.
Anna Tassone, Assumption (Jr., P/INF - Gardner, Mass.)
Tassone picked up a pair of wins this week, as the Greyhounds secured the number two seed for the upcoming NE10 Tournament. She tossed 13.0 innings, allowing seven hits and one unearned run, while supporting a .54 WHIP.
Andie Anderson, Franklin Pierce (So., OF - Phoenix, Ariz.)
Anderson led the Ravens offensively with a .700 batting average (7-for-10) with two doubles, one triple, three RBI, and four stolen bases. Anderson is currently hitting .371 for the year.
Sabrina Gonzalez, Franklin Pierce (Sr., P - Chandler, Ariz.)
In a 5-1 week for the Ravens, Gonzalez finished with a perfect 3-0 record which included: three complete games (two shutouts), a 0.33 ERA, and scattered 12 hits in 21 innings pitched. Gonzalez currently ranks third in the NE10 in ERA and fourth in wins. She recorded a 12-2 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
Sophie Valle, Pace (So., Utility - Chino, Calif.)
Valle batted an impressive .500 during the week going 7-of-14 at the plate. She batted in three runs with one double.
Haile Hicks, Saint Anselm (Sr., P - Jefferson, N.H.)
Hicks had a 4-1 week for Saint Anselm after pitching 27.1 innings to help the Hawks secure the sixth seed in the NE10 standings. She recorded 25 total strikeouts posting 6.4 strikeouts per seven innings with a 2.56 earned-run average and 1.28 WHIP. She now owns a 17-5 overall record on the mound with 10 of those wins coming from conference play to tie her for most league wins.
Sam Wiberg, Saint Anselm (Jr., P/1B - Exeter, N.H.)
Wiberg batted a .370 (10-27) over a 5-3 week for the Hawks with seven RBI, four runs scored, two doubles, and a walk-off home run. She recorded her first collegiate walk-off homer on Tuesday to sweep Saint Michael's at home going 7-for-8 at the plate during the series. Wiberg later secured a second walk-off hit for Saint Anselm against league-leading Adelphi to split results with the Panthers and secure the sixth seed in the conference standings. She currently owns the second-best batting average (.413) in the conference and is tied for the third-most hits in the league (26).
Dominique DeLutri, Southern Conn. St. (Jr., Utility - North Bellmore, N.Y.)
In a 4-0 week, DeLutri led the Owls with a .417 (5-12) average with a .429 on-base percentage and a .500 slugging. DeLutri totaled four RBI. In a doubleheader sweep of Felician, DeLutri was 2-for-6 with three RBI and a run scored. Against St. Michael's, she was 2-for-2 with a walk in Game 1 and 1-for-4 with a RBI in the second game.
Jessica Perucki, Southern Conn. St. (Gr., P/DH - West Milford, N.J.)
Perucki continued dominating with a 2-0 week that also included a save in the Owls' third game of the week, while giving up one, unearned run in 14.1 innings. Against Felician, Perucki spun a complete game two-hitter with 11 strikeouts with the Golden Falcons' only run crossing by virture of an error. In conference play, need two wins to punch the Owls' ticket to the NE10 Tournament, Perucki had a complete-game, three-hit shutout with a season-high 12 strikeouts in a 2-0 Game 1 victory. With the Owls holding a 5-2 lead in Game 2, and the season on the line, Perucki entered the game in the seventh and slammed the door on the Purple Knights for the save. Perucki walked just one batter all week with five hits allowed for a 0.42 WHIP while her 23 strikeouts in 14 1/3 innings produced an 11.23 strikeout-per-7-innings ratio.
