Women's Golf Championship on Sunday (Oct. 16) and Monday (Oct. 17).
MANSFIELD, Mass. – For the fourth-consecutive time, Franklin Pierce - the three-time reigning league champion - has been selected as the favorite heading into the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Golf Championship. The Ravens received 36 points and six first-place votes in the Pre-Championship Poll, announced on Thursday afternoon.
Led by head coach Tyler Bishop, Franklin Pierce will try to win its fifth NE10 title in program history when the Championship begins on Sunday at The Ranch Golf Club in Southwick, Mass. The first round of the 36-hole tournament will tee-off on Sunday at 11 a.m., with Monday's final round beginning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. American International will serve as the host and live scoring will be available on GolfStat.
Adelphi finished in second place in the Pre-Championship Poll with 30 points and the final first-place tally and Le Moyne was third with 26 points. Assumption and Saint Rose tied for fourth at 19 points, while newcomers Saint Anselm (11 points) and New Haven (6 points) completed the poll. AIC will compete as individual golfers.
Franklin Pierce won two NE10 titles during the 2021 calendar year, which included the spring season among COVID-19 protocols. Overall, the Ravens have won three-straight NE10 Championship titles by double-digit strokes and had the past three individual medalists - including Kesinee Prukmathakul last fall.
Saint Anselm joins the 7-team field as a newly-formed women's golf program under the direction of head coach Tara Watt, while New Haven features a new women's program under head coach Matt Ward.
