MEN'S GOLF SELECTIONS | WOMEN'S GOLF SELECTIONS
Five Men's Teams, One Women's Team and Three Individuals to Represent the NE10.
MANSFIELD, Mass. - The Northeast-10 Conference had six golf programs and three student-athletes qualify for the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Golf Championships - including the Assumption men and Franklin Pierce women after winning their respective NE10 Championship titles this past fall.
The East Regional for the women will be played from May 8-10 at Panther Creek Golf Club in Springfield, Ill. - hosted by the University of Illinois at Springfield. The Atlantic/East Regional for the men will be played from May 11-13 at Iron Valley Golf Club in Lebanon, Pa. - hosted by Millersville University of Pennsylvania.
Joining Assumption, the No. 4-seed on the men's side, will be No. 2-seeded Le Moyne, No. 5-seeded Southern New Hampshire, No. 7-seeded Franklin Pierce and No. 8-seeded Adelphi, along with three individual golfers: Saint Anselm's Drew Semons, as well as Bentley's Jared Walter and Nelson Eaton. On the women's side, Franklin Pierce, the No. 13 seed, will be the NE10's sole representative.
At the women's regional, all participants will compete through the 54 holes of competition. The top three (central), five (south), four (west) and six (east) teams along with the top two individuals not on an advancing team will advance to the NCAA Championship. The Women's Golf Championship will be held May 16-20 at Fox Run Golf Club in Eureka, Mo. The number of participants that qualify for the finals is 98.
At a minimum, the top three teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each men's regional will advance to the finals, May 22-26 at Avalon Lakes in Warren, Ohio. The remaining eight team berths will be allocated based on the regions represented in the prior year's head-to-head medal play portion of the championships, with the maximum number of teams from a given region capped at seven. The Men's Golf Championship will be hosted by the Mountain East Conference and Avalon Lakes at The Grand Resort.
