Pace Records 11 First-Place Votes.
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Pace, the reigning NCAA Division II national champion, will enter the 2024 season as the league favorite, according to the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Poll on Thursday afternoon. It is the first time in program history that the Setters have been selected first in the poll - which is voted on by NE10 head coaches.
Pace received 121 points and 11 first-place votes - becoming a unanimous choice by opposing coaches as NE10 favorite. The Setters, led by head coach Tricia Molfetta, are just eight months removed from their first-ever Division II national title, which was a dominant 19-9 victory over West Chester on May 21, 2023. Pace finished the season with a 21-2 record, including an undefeated 12-0 mark in NE10 games.
Adelphi, the NCAA East Regional finalist, came in second in the Coaches' Poll with 104 points and the final first-place tally. The next four teams - Saint Anselm (88 points), Assumption (85 points), Bentley (83 points) and New Haven (80 points) - were all separated by just eight points.
Southern New Hampshire is seventh with 71 points, followed by Southern Connecticut (52), Saint Rose (38), Franklin Pierce (31), American International (25) and Saint Michael's (14).
The NE10 continues its national dominance in women's lacrosse, as six programs finished the 2023 season in the Top 25 of the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA) rankings - with one more receiving votes in the poll. Highlighting the group was Pace at No. 1 and Adelphi at No. 7.
