SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - Lauren Battista from Bentley University and Dominykas Milka from The College of Saint Rose were selected as the East Regional winners of the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association (CCA) 2013-14 Scholar Athlete Awards.
Sixteen regional winners of the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award have been announced today, including Battista and Milka. A male and female Division II Scholar-Athlete of the Year will be selected from the 16 regional winners, eight men and eight women.
The commissioners from each Division II basketball region selected the regional winners. To be nominated for consideration, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and possess outstanding athletic credentials.
This award, sponsored by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association, provides the opportunity for Division II to highlight the extraordinary achievements of its student-athletes. Steve Murray, Division II CCA President and Commissioner of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, noted that the award showcases the academic and athletic talent at the NCAA Division II level.
“The CCA Scholar-Athlete Awards highlight the great achievements of our student-athletes both on the field and in the classroom”, explained Murray.

The national award winners will be announced in September.
The Northeast-10 Conference is an association of 15 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that is committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for more than 6,000 student-athletes.
Each year, 4,000 of those student-athletes compete in Conference championships in 23 sports, making the NE-10 the largest DII conference in the country in terms of sports sponsorship. Leading the way in the classroom, on the field and within the community, the Northeast-10 is proud of its comprehensive program and the experience it provides student-athletes.
