NE10 Baseball Teams of the Week: Pace, Saint Anselm

Pace, Saint Anselm

Each week for the remainder of the spring we will honor the seniors from two NE10 baseball programs as our teams of the week for each player's dedication to their program and teammates.

PACE

Coach Hank Manning on his senior class - "Our senior class represents everything that is great about Pace University. They have worked extremely hard in all facets of being a student-athlete, and I am proud of the players and people that they have become. Although we weren't able to finish the journey all together, I know that this group will be a part of our program forever. They have represented Pace baseball with dignity, class and a great respect, and for that, I am extremely appreciative. Our program is better because they were a part of it."

Season Recap
The Pace baseball team played 12 games this season, going 5-7 in those matchups prior to the cancellation of the spring sport season. The Setters played four games in Myrtle Beach, S.C., prior to eight consecutive home games at Peter X. Finnerty Field. All five of their wins came against East Region opponents from the CACC and ECC. Joe Curcio led the team with a .389 batting average, as well as a pair of homers and 11 RBI. Lorenzo Russo was 1-2 with a 4.41 ERA in 16.1 innings of work on the mound for Pace.

SAINT ANSELM

Coach Jerod Edmondson on his senior class - "I could not have asked for a better group of seniors for my first year as the coach at Saint A's.  They bought into our culture from day one and worked extremely hard to set the tone for our younger guys.  They have helped lay the foundation for the future success of this program.  I feel very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to coach this great group of young men."
