Le Moyne's Tyler Birdd Highlights NE10 Men's Golf All-Conference Honors

Tyler Birdd - Le Moyne

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Assumption, Franklin Pierce and Le Moyne Each with Three All-Conference Selections.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Le Moyne's Tyler Birdd was named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year, highlighting All-Conference men's golf honors as announced by the Conference on Thursday afternoon.

Birdd is the first Le Moyne golfer to earn Player of the Year since John Clare in the 2016-17 season. Joining Birdd as major awards winners were Franklin Pierce's Seth Saffell, the NE10 Rookie of the Year, and Assumption's John O'Hara, the NE10 Coach of the Year.

Seven different NE10 men's golf programs had at least one player earn All-Conference recognition, including a league-high three from Assumption, Franklin Pierce and Le Moyne. The Dolphins led all programs with a pair of First Team selections – Birdd and Nicholas Bove.

Birdd becomes the seventh Le Moyne golfer in program history to win Player of the Year status. He won individual medalist honors at the NE10 Men's Golf Championship in October, shooting a two-under (214) through 54 holes to lead the 55-player field. Birdd went on to finish third at the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional and became the first Dolphin to qualify as an individual for the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship. His scoring average of 74.22 was tallied over a program-record 31 rounds this season.

Saffell is the second Franklin Pierce player to win Rookie of the Year in program history, joining Dylan Plis (2017-18) with the distinction. He posted a strong freshman campaign that included a second-place finish at the NE10 Men's Golf Championship in October by shooting even-par in the three-round tournament. He tallied four top-10 finishes in his first season overall. Saffell also tied for 33rd in the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional, the best finish among all Ravens. He was also a Third Team All-Conference selection.

O'Hara earned his third Coach of the Year honor after leading Assumption to the 2022 NE10 Men's Golf Championship – the program's second-straight league title and third in the past four years. Assumption played in the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional, one of five NE10 men's teams to qualify. The Greyhounds also earned three All-Conference selections, including Sean Magarian and Mitchell Tarrio on the Second Team.
