SNHU’s Adriana Timberlake Repeats as NE10 Player of the Year, as All-Conference Honors Released

Adriana Timberlake - 2024

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Four Teams with Three All-Conference Selections.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Southern New Hampshire graduate guard Adriana Timberlake has been named Northeast-10 Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Year for the second-straight season, highlighting the announcement of All-Conference honors by the league office on Wednesday.

Timberlake, the first SNHU player in program history to win Player of the Year, becomes the fifth player in league history to earn the award in consecutive seasons. Among those five players, three of them are currently NE10 Hall of Fame inductees (Alison Fay, Michelle Doonan and Johannah Leedham). Most recently, it was Bentley's Jen Gemma to win Player of the Year in both 2016 and 2017.

Other major award winners included Franklin Pierce's Anna Badosa Soler as NE10 Defensive Player of the Year, Bentley's Niya Morgen as NE10 Rookie of the Year and Saint Rose's Will Brown as NE10 Coach of the Year.

Timberlake and Badosa Solder were joined on the All-Conference First Team by Assumption's Marina Callahan and Molly Stokes, as well as Bentley's Ella Thompson and Maggie Whitmore.

Six different NE10 programs had multiple All-Conference selections – including a league-high three from Assumption, American International, Bentley and Saint Rose. Among the 12 NE10 programs, 11 of them had at least one player selected to either the All-Conference or All-Rookie teams.

For a complete list of honorees, please see below. All-Conference teams are not based on position and are voted on by the league's head coaches.

Timberlake earned her second-straight Player of the Year honor after leading the NE10 in scoring this season with 18.7 points per game, including an average of 19.3 points against conference opponents. She also ranked third in the league in assists (3.9 per game) and fifth in steals (1.8 per game), while leading the league in minutes played. Timberlake notched 11 games with 20 or more points this season for the Penmen, who earned a first round bye in the NE10 Championship.

Badosa Soler is the first Franklin Pierce player to win Defensive Player of the Year since Tiffany Johnson in 2012. She was tied for the league lead in steals with 2.0 per game and added 6.0 rebounds per game as a guard. Franklin Pierce's defense allowed just 57.2 points per game to opponents this season – but surrendered only 55.3 points per game in its seven-game winning streak to finish the regular season. Badosa Soler, who averaged 14.0 points and 3.5 assists per game, was a two-time selection as NE10 Player of the Week.

Morgen is the first Bentley player since her teammate – Ella Thompson – to win Rookie of the Year as the Falcons won a share of the NE10 regular season title and earned the top seed in the NE10 Championship. Morgen averaged 8.0 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game during the season, including a field goal percentage of 49.0 in 26 games played. She led all NE10 players in three-point field goal percentage at 50.8 and was a four-time Rookie of the Week selection.

In his first season at the helm for Saint Rose, Brown led the Golden Knights to a remarkable 21-5 record (17-5 NE10) and a nine-game improvement in conference play during the regular season, as compared to 2022-23. Under Brown, Saint Rose has the top scoring defense in all of Division II, allowing just 47.5 points per game. Early in the season, the Golden Knights had a season-best nine-game winning streak that spanned from Nov. 21 to Jan. 3. He becomes the first Saint Rose women's basketball coach to ever win NE10 Coach of the Year.
