WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Four members of the University of New Haven football coaching staff attended the Lauren's First and Goal Football Camp on Sunday, June 2 at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. The annual event is the primary fundraiser for the Lauren's First and Goal Foundation.

Head coach Peter Rossomando was joined by assistant coaches Daryl Daleen, Jon Leible and Anthony Mortali as four of the more than 310 collegiate coaches who volunteered to mentor the more than 2,000 attendees of the 10th annual camp. The event, which was open to student-athletes who will be entering grades 9-12 this fall, raised over $103,000 – the highest-ever total from a single Lauren's First and Goal Football Camp.

Lauren's First and Goal Foundation is named for Lauren Loose – a 16-year-old pediatric brain tumor survivor and the daughter of Lafayette defensive coordinator John Loose. Since its inception in 2004, the Foundation has raised more than $1 million toward its mission to provide financial support for brain tumor research and cancer services, to offer financial and emotional support to families living with pediatric cancer and to increase awareness of the disease.

As the 2012 Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year for Division II, Rossomando was awarded $50,000 to support his favorite charities, a portion of which was donated to the Lauren's First and Goal Foundation.
