NE10 Offensive Player of the Week
Drew Willoughby, Saint Anselm
Junior | Quarterback | Austin, Texas
Willoughby completed 21-of-31 passes, firing six touchdowns (single-game home record for Saint Anselm) while racking up 246 aerial yards in a 56-7 victory over American International. In total, 10 receivers caught a pass from Willoughby, including three first-quarter touchdown passes to Anthony Brown, who posted three catches for 38 yards. He finished with four first-quarter TD passes as the Hawks led by a 42-0 margin. Willoughby now has 31 career passing touchdowns and 3,403 passing yards for Saint Anselm in just 11 career games played.
NE10 Defensive Player of the Week
Joe DiGello, Southern Connecticut
Sophomore | Linebacker | Orange, Conn.
Digello was all over the field against the No. 24 New Haven Chargers, totaling eight tackles (5 solo) with a sack and also intercepted UNH's Connor Degenhardt, returning the pick 50 yards for the Owls' second touchdown of the day to give Southern a 13-3 lead in the first half.
NE10 Special Teams Player of the Week
Rio Ferguson, Saint Anselm
Sophomore | Running Back | Northborough, Mass.
Ferguson led the Hawks with 52 rushing yards and was a standout on special teams, becoming the second player in team history to block two punts in a single game. Through his team's first two games, he now has two punt blocks and a fumble recovery on a punt attempt to his credit.
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Alex Benitez, Franklin Pierce
Freshman | Punter | Belle Meade, N.J.
Benitez punted four times for 149 yards (37.3 yards per punt) in Saturday's 27-6 loss at Carson-Newman. He put two of his punts inside the opposing 20-yard line.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Mason Campbell, Bentley (Jr., K - Naples, Fla.)
Campbell scored 11 points in Bentley's 41-24 win over Pace in the home opener. He converted both his field goal attempts, from 30 and 24 yards, and all five of his extra point attempts. In addition, he had two touchbacks among his eight kickoffs.
Nate Larkins, Bentley (Sr., RB - Huntington, N.Y.)
In the Falcons' 41-20 victory over Pace, Larkins caught two touchdown passes and ran for another. He gained 73 yards on 14 carries and also caught three passes for 37 yards. The touchdowns covered 28, 5 and 8 yards.
Salvatore Lupoli Jr., Bentley (Jr., LB - Chelmsford, Mass.)
Lupoli, the Northeast-10 leader in tackles, had 11, including seven unassisted, in a 41-20 win over Pace in the Falcons' home opener. He also had two tackles for losses and a quarterback hurry as Bentley limited the Setters to 12 first downs and 2.7 yards per rush.
Trey Sejour, Franklin Pierce (So., LB - Everett, Mass.)
Led the team with 12 tackles (4 solo), including one sack, in Saturday's 27-6 loss at Carson-Newman.
Christopher Ais, New Haven (So., RB - Stoughton, Mass.)
Ais led New Haven's ground game with a season-high 102 yards, the most by any Charger running back this season. He also ran in one carry for a touchdown, that coming on his longest run of the day which went for 37 yards. In 16 carries, he averaged 6.4 yards per attempt, while his 37-yard TD was the longest run for any Charger on Saturday.
Joe Vitale, New Haven (Jr., LB - North Haven, Conn.)
Vitale led the Chargers offense in their home opening win over crosstown rival Southern Connecticut State. His 10 total tackles is the first double digit performance of the season for any Charger player. In addition, he added 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 of which were sacks which resulted in six yards lost.
Carlton Aiken, Pace (Sr., QB - Gibbstown, N.J)
Aiken totaled 260 of Pace's 276 total yards of offense on Saturday against Bentley. The graduate quarterback also supplied all three of the Setters' touchdowns in the game. All in all, Aiken finished with 206 passing yards and a pair of throwing touchdowns while also running in for a nine-yard touchdown mid-way through the fourth quarter.
Taylor Pawelkoski, Saint Anselm (Sr., LB - Bradenton, Fla.)
Pawelkoski adding 2.5 tackles for a loss that includes two sacks for 22 yards in his team's convincing victory over American International. He finished with six total tackles to his credit.
Diante Wilson, Southern Conn. St. (So., RB - Union, N.J.)
Wilson led the Owls with 20 carries for 87 yards while also catching four passes for 42 yards and scoring twice in the Owls' comeback bid at No. 24 New Haven. Both of Wilson's touchdowns came with 2:37 remaining and the Owls trailing.
