South Easton, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference recently had 22 men's and women's soccer players named to their respective 2011 Capital One Academic All-District teams, as selected by CoSIDA.

Eight of the 11 student-athletes named to the men's First Team hail from Northeast-10 member institutions, while the women's First and Second Teams featured seven Northeast-10 players on each.

Franklin Pierce University led the way with three seniors selected to the All-Academic Men's Soccer First Team. The Ravens' trio included seniors Victor Goncalves, Vinny Papageorgiou and Tom Reilly, all of whom were selected to the Northeast-10 First Team this year. Papageorgio was also named Goalkeeper of the Year and Reilly was selected as Defensive Player of the Year.

Two more Northeast-10 First Team picks in senior Robbie Sabadoz of Merrimack College and fellow senior Paul Templeton of Southern Connecticut State University were also named to the All-Academic Men's Soccer First Team. So. Connecticut junior Yoni Feldman also made the team and posted the highest GPA (3.90) among the 11 student-athletes to garner the honor.

Juniors Weston Zeiner of Bentley University and Jordan Branco of Southern New Hampshire University were also selected to the First Team.

The College of Saint Rose had three selected to the women's First Team in senior Christina Cuffari, junior Meagan McKinney and sophomore Carmelina Puopolo. Cuffari was recently named the Northeast-10 Player of the Year, while both her and Puopolo were named to First Team this year.

Junior Elizabeth Belanger (Stonehill College), grad student Jacquelyn Fede (So. Connecticut), junior Hannah Merullo (University of Massachusetts Lowell) and senior Amanda Panaro (Franklin Pierce) were also named to the All-Academic First Team. Belanger had the second-highest GPA (3.95) among the First Team honorees and was also chosen to the Northeast-10 First Team, while Fede was named Goalkeeper of the Year and garnered a First Team selection.
