GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - Adelphi University graduate Erika Loomer was awarded a NCAA Women's Enhancement Program Postgraduate scholarship as announced on February 6, 2013. The NCAA awarded 13 women's enhancement program postgraduate scholarships. Of the 213 women selected, Loomer was the only Division II athlete selected, and one of just two non Division-I recipients.

In her role as a Sports Marketing Intern, Loomer has developed marketing plans for various sports, assisted in corporate sponsorships and produced promotional posters and videos.

She was also a four-year member of the Adelphi University volleyball team, helping the Panthers to four straight NCAA Division II East Regional appearances, four consecitive 20-win seasons and the programs first-ever berth in the East Regional semifinals in 2010.

In addition, Loomer spent four years working in the Office of Sports Information Office and was named a NACWAA Administrator of Tomorrow in the spring of 2012. During her undergraduate career she was also a public relations intern with the New York Knicks and the Northeast-10 Conference as an intern during the summer of 2011.

An active volunteer within many community organizations and projects, Loomer was selected to attend the inaugural NCAA Sports and Entertainment Summit and NCAA Careers in Sports Forum in 2011 and was also the President of Adelphi's Student Athlette Advisory Committee (SAAC) as a senior.

The awards will be formally presented in June at the Career in Sports Forum and Loomer will attend the University of Central Florida in the fall, where she will pursue her masters in Sports Business Management.
