Southern New Hampshire Takes Top Seed in Northeast-10 Men's Soccer Championship Field

Penmen become first team in
conference history to go 13-0 in league play
 

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Reigning Northeast-10 Conference champion Southern New Hampshire University will be the top seed in the upcoming 2013 Northeast-10 Men's Soccer Championship, which gets underway Tuesday, November 5 with quarterfinal action.

The Penmen (15-1, 13-0 NE-10) wrapped up their conference slate with a perfect 13-0 mark following a 2-0 win over The College of Saint Rose Friday night, becoming the first Northeast-10 team to finish league play with an unblemished record since the conference expanded to a 13-game schedule in 2000. 

Ranked No. 10 in the country, So. New Hampshire claims the Northeast-10 regular-season title on the heels of a 15-game win streak, which marks the second longest in program history.

So. New Hampshire will host eighth-seeded Saint Rose in a Northeast-10 Championship Quarterfinal matchup Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m., and all other quarterfinal contests are scheduled for 7:00 p.m. as well.

Merrimack College (12-3-1, 10-2-1 NE-10) earned the No. 2 seed and will host seventh-seeded Bentley University (8-7-1, 7-6 NE-10) on Tuesday. Sixth-seeded Franklin Pierce University (8-7-1, 7-5-1 NE-10) will travel to third-seeded Southern Connecticut State University (9-5-1, 9-3-1 NE-10) and the other matchup features fifth-seeded Le Moyne College (11-6, 8-5 NE-10) at fourth-seeded Adelphi University (10-6, 9-4 NE-10).
