DAKTRONICS RELEASE

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - Southern New Hampshire University seniors Dom DiMaggio and Pierre Omanga and graduate student Callum Williams of the Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer team have been named 2013 Daktronics Division II First Team All-Americans, it was announced earlier this week.

Adelphi University senior Juan Aguiar was named to the Honorable Mention team as well.

The Daktronics Division II All-America and All-Region teams are selected by athletics communications professionals at NCAA Division II schools.

DiMaggio, Omanga (pictured) and Williams are the third, fourth and fifth Daktronics First Team All-Americans in Penmen program history.

Omanga, the Northeast-10 Player of the Year and an NE-10 First Team selection, ranks fourth nationally in total goals with 20 and seventh in points with 43 as he has 20 goals and three assists on the season.  He has tallied nine game-winning goals on the season and scored at least one goal in 13 of SNHU's 22 games.  Omanga was also the Most Valuable Player of the Northeast-10 Championship after totaling three goals in three games, including the game's only goal in a 1-0 win over Merrimack in the final.

Williams, the Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Year, anchors the nation's top defense.  Starting all 22 games, Williams has led a defense that leads the country in goals-against average (0.40) and has posted 13 shutouts on the season while allowing just nine goals, including five shutouts in six postseason games.  Williams has also totaled a goal and two assists on the season.

DiMaggio, a co-captain, has been the backstop to the stellar Penmen defense.  Starting all 22 games in goal, DiMaggio ranks second nationally in goals-against average (0.381), while his .840 save percentage is good for 16th in Division II.  The senior has registered eight shutouts on the season, including four in the postseason.

So. New Hampshire returns to action on Saturday, December 7 when it faces Carson-Newman in the Division II national championship in Evans, Georgia at Blanchard Woods Park.

For Aguiar, being named a Daktronics NCAA All-American Honorable Mention is the latest award for the St. John's transfer. Prior, Aguiar was named a Daktronics First-Team All-Region honoree as well as a First-Team All-Northeast-10 selection. In just his first year donning the Panther uniform, he made an immediate impact and was tied for first on the team with 17 points on six goals and five assists. The midfielder started in 12 games while seeing action in 15 of them and had a breakout game in a 4-1 win over American International on September 18 when he collected five points on two goals and one assist.
