SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - Southern New Hampshire University has earned a bid to the 2013 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship and will host first and second round East Regional games at Larkin Field, it was announced Monday evening. The Penmen, the region's No. 2 seed, will host games on Thursday (11/14) and Saturday (11/16).
On Thursday, in first round action, third-seeded Post University (15-2-2) will take on No. 6 seed Wilmington (Del.) University (11-5-2) in a 7:00 contest. The Penmen (18-1) will face the winner of that contest Saturday at 1:00, with the winner of that game advancing to the East Region final next weekend.
Ticket prices for both games will be announced on Tuesday.
Southern New Hampshire, which captured its second straight Northeast-10 Championship on Sunday, is making its sixth straight and 19th overall appearance in the NCAA Division II tournament. The six straight appearances is the longest current active streak in Division II. The Penmen enter the championship with an 18-game win streak, the longest in the country.
