Le Moyne, SNHU Earn Semifinal Wins; Advance to NE10 Championship Final

Le Moyne and SNHU to Meet in Rematch of 2022 NE10 Final.


MANSFIELD, Mass. - Le Moyne and Southern New Hampshire both earned semifinal wins over Saint Michael's and Adelphi, respectively, on Thursday afternoon in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship. The two programs advance to their second-straight Championship final in Syracuse, with first serve scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Skytop Tennis Courts. 

Top-seeded Le Moyne blanked No. 4-seeded Saint Michael's, 4-0, while No. 3-seeded Southern New Hampshire upset No. 2-seeded Adelphi, 4-1. The semifinal victories set up a rematch of the 2022 NE10 Championship final, which Le Moyne won by a 4-3 margin over Southern New Hampshire.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Peter HattonTom Jarry and Kacper Piekarek won singles matches to lead top-seeded Le Moyne to a 4-0 win over No. 4-seeded Saint Michael's on Thursday afternoon in the NE10 Men's Tennis Championship semifinals. The Dolphins advance to their third-straight NE10 Championship match on Sunday and will host No. 3-seeded Southern New Hampshire. 

Hatton beat Josh Weiss at No. 1 singles (6-2, 6-3), Jarry beat Jason Boucher at No. 3 singles (6-2, 6-0) and Piekarek defeated Mathis Billman at No. 5 singles (6-3, 6-1) - all in straight sets. Le Moyne grabbed the doubles point with Jarry and Ethan Miller winning at No.1 over Tristian Du Plessis and Billman, 6-1, and Piekarek and Rodrigo Beires winning at No. 3 against Seb Tonini and Julius van den Broek, 6-1. 

Le Moyne will look to win its third-straight NE10 title on Sunday. First serve is at 1 p.m. at the Skytop Tennis Courts.

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - Third-seeded Southern New Hampshire upset second-seeded Adelphi in the NE10 Men's Tennis Championship semifinals on Thursday afternoon, advancing to Sunday's final at top-seeded Le Moyne for the second-straight season. The Penmen will play in the NE10 Championship match for the sixth time in the past seven seasons. 

SNHU won the doubles point with victories at No. 1 behind Jonathan Berling and Fernando Torres and at No. 3 with Phillipp Roeder and Aron Ouwejan. Berling also won at No. 2 singles over Adelphi's Hugo Munoz Reinoso, 7-6, 7-6, and Torres beat Gabriel Balestero at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. SNHU's Jesse Den Hartog defeated his fellow NE10 Co-Player of the Year Marko Jovanovic, 7-6, 4-6, 6-3, to clinch the match. 

SNHU will look to avenge last year's 4-3 loss to Le Moyne in the NE10 Championship final.
