NE10 Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week

Will Brown, New Haven
Sophomore | Middletown, Pa.

For the second week in a row, Brown led the New Haven men's cross country team, this time around at the annual Ted Owen Invitational hosted by Central Connecticut State University at Stanley Quarter Park. Among a field of 165 runners, Brown finished in sixth place overall, fifth in the scoring, with a time of 26:23 on the 8K course. Among the field, he was the highest Division 2 finisher.


NE10 Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week

Fransiscah Cherotich, AIC
Sophomore | Kapenguria, Kenya

Cherotich was AIC's and the Northeast-10's top runner in Central Connecticut State's Ted Owen Invitational at the Stanley Quarter Park. She placed 18th overall, completing the course in 19:07, holding a 6:10 average mile pace. 


NE10 Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week

Kasey Mahoney, Saint Michael's
Freshman | Bedford, N.H.

Freshman Kasey Mahoney placed seventh with an 8K PR of 28:06.8 on Sunday during the Equality Invitational on the campus of Saint Michael's. 


NE10 Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week

Rina Stanghellini, New Haven
Freshman | White Plains, N.Y.

Stanghellini placed 45th overall at Central Connecticut State's Ted Owen Invitational at the Stanley Quarter Park. She ran the 5K in 20:43 and the second Charger across the finisline.  


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Caitlin Burmester, Bentley (So. - Willow Grove, Pa.)
Burmester was Bentley's top runner in Central Connecticut State's Ted Owen Invitational at the Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, Conn. She was 46th overall in 19:50, a 6:24 mile pace, and was second among Northeast-10 competitors. 

Brice Tolan, Bentley (Sr. - Abington, Mass.)
Tolan was the first Bentley runner across the finish line during Central Connecticut State's Ted Owen Invitational at the Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, Conn. He finished 35th overall in 27:29, a 5:32 mile pace, and was fifth among Division II competitors.

Noah Taracena, Saint Micheal's (Jr., Hampton, N.H.)
Junior Noah Taracena placed second out of 30 runners during the 8K Equality Invitational on the Saint Michael's campus on Sunday. He clocked in at 26:57.3 for his sixth career top-10 finish.

Matthew Waruch, Saint Rose (So., Accord, N.Y.)
Waruch crossed the line in 27:24.8 to earn eighth place in the men's 8K at the Oneonta State Airfield Invitational on Saturday.
