Ravens, Owls and Penmen to Represent the NE10

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Following a Northeast-10 sweep at the NCAA East Regional hosted by Adelphi over the weekend, three NE10 programs and six individuals earned automatic bids to the 2022 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships, as announced by the NCAA on Monday evening.

On the women's side, East Region Champion Southern New Hampshire qualified and was the only women's program from the conference selected to compete. The Penmen finished first and senior Ashley Corcoran was the individual champion to help the team to it's first-ever title. The Penmen also qualified for the NCAA Championship back in 2019.

On the men's side, Franklin Pierce and Southern Connecticut will be representing the East and the Northeast-10. The two teams finished first and second at the East Regional, with Southern Connecticut winning the program's first Regional Title, and Raven's sophomore Wondu Summa won the men's 10K.

Individually, the NE10 will be representing the East, claiming all six spots. For the men, Claudio Rocha of Assumption, Gabe Medina of American International and Jacob Logan of Southern New Hampshire will compete. For the women, Katherine Marsh from Adelphi, Fransiscah Cherotich from AIC and Jane Harrington from Saint Anselm will compete.

The championships will be held Dec. 2 at Chambers Creek Regional Park in University Place, WA. Seattle Pacific University will serve as the host. The men's race will begin at 1:00 p.m. Eastern, followed by the women's race at 2:15 p.m. Eastern.

A live stream of the championships will occur on www.NCAA.com until the conclusion of the awards ceremony.
