Ravens Chosen as NE10 Favorite.
MANSFIELD, Mass. - Defending Northeast-10 champion Franklin Pierce has been selected as the top team ahead of the 2022 season, the NE10 Men's Soccer Coaches' Poll revealed on Wednesday morning.
The head coaches from the 12 competing schools picked Franklin Pierce as the favorite for the second-consecutive season with 121 points and 11 of 12 first-place votes. Last season, head coach Ruben Resendes led the Ravens program to it's first NE10 Championship final and title since 2011 and a second-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament (no tournament in 2020 due to COVID-19).
Franklin Pierce defeated AIC 2-0 in the 2021 NE10 Championship final that helped them earn hosting rights for the NCAA Super Regional. The Ravens advanced to the third round before ending the season with a 20-1-1 record.
AIC, the 2021 NE10 finalist, finished second in the poll with 102 total points and the one reamaining first-place vote. Southern New Hampshire placed third with 101 points, followed by Adelphi (93) and Le Moyne (81) to round out the top five teams.
