#6 Assumption 3, #7 Le Moyne 2 – Box Score

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University softball team used a fifth-inning rally to come back and take down the Le Moyne College Dolphins 3-2 at Normand Marois '56 Field Tuesday afternoon in the Northeast-10 Championship First Round.

The Greyhounds got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning. Lauren Geremia used her speed to beat out a bad throw and get to third base on a throwing error. Corin Mahan then singled in Geremia with a bunt, and the Hounds went up 1-0.

The Dolphins responded in the third, with Frankie Larobardiere providing an RBI single to score Isabelle Boudreau and tie things up. Not too long after, Audrey Benderski slapped a single up the middle, scoring Mckenzie Bergdoll, and Le Moyne got their first lead.

The Hounds pitched well and defended in the field but couldn't grab the lead back or get the bats rolling until the bottom of the fifth. Jordan Dwyer opened it up by tripling to right field and scoring Abigail Larson. After her, Geremia continued to stay involved and got the crucial sacrifice fly to score Dwyer and get the lead back on the home team's side.
