Four NE10 Teams Make NCAA Softball Championship

Adelphi, Bentley, Franklin Pierce and Pace Earn a Spot in the 2023 NCAA Tournament. 


MANSFIELD, Mass. - Four Northeast-10 softball programs earned a bid into the Division II Softball Championship on Monday morning, as announced by the NCAA. Adelphi, the two-time NE10 champions, leads the group as the No. 1 seed in the East Region with hosting rights. 

Adelphi (43-6) claimed its second-straight NE10 title on Saturday with a 3-0 win over Assumption. The Panthers qualified for the NCAA Championship for the 11th-consecutive season and will host East Region 1, which consists of No. 4 Bentley (28-14-1), No. 5 Caldwell (35-17) and No. 8 St. Thomas Aquinas (31-16). East Region 2 will be played at No. 2 Wilmington (DE) (39-13) where two NE10 teams - No. 6 Franklin Pierce (32-18) and No. 7 Pace (26-23) will join Wilmington and No. 3 Georgian Court (37-19). 

Franklin Pierce and Pace qualified for a second year in a row, while Bentley earns its first-ever NCAA berth in program history. 

The NCAA Division II Softball Committee has selected the 64 teams that will participate in the 2023 NCAA Division II Softball Championship. Four teams will participate at each of the 16 regional sites in double-elimination tournaments, held May 11-13. Winners will advance to the super regionals, slated for May 18-19. The finals will be held May 25-31 at the Frost Stadium at Warner Park and will be hosted by Lee University, the University of North Georgia and the Chattanooga Sports Commission.
