Four NE10 Baseball and Softball Players Selected to CSC Academic All-America Teams

Adelphi Leads With Two Selections.


MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference had three softball players and one baseball players from three institutions were selected to CSC Academic All-America Teams, led by Adelphi softball's Lindsey Hibbs as the Academic All-America Team Member of the Year. 

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Division II Academic All-America® program. 

Hibbs capped off her junior season as a First Team Academic All-American and Division II Team Member of the Year after leading the nation in four categories and setting the new NE10 and Adelphi single-season record for strikeouts, and Division II record for strikeout-to-walk ratio (15.88). In the classroom, she owned a 3.89 GPA as a sport management major. Hibbs is joined by fellow Panther, Courtney Wengryn as a Third Team selection. Wengryn also held a 3.89 GPA as a marketing major, and on the field possessed a .393 batting average to go with five home runs and 40 runs batted in. This season, the duo led Adelphi to its second-consecutive NE10 title and another NCAA tournament berth. 

The third softball honoree is Saint Anselm's Ava Caputo. The sophomore was named the NE10 Softball Championship Elite 24 winner with her perfect 4.0 GPA as a biology major. Caputo led the Hawks' offense this season with a .393 batting average, 20 runs and 33 runs batted in. Her efforts helped Saint Anselm to a 26-15-1 overall record. 

The lone baseball selection is Billy Sullivan of Southern Connecticut. The sport management major had a 3.69 cumulative GPA. On the diamond, he was the Owls' leader in three categories - batting average (.379), hits (67), runs scored (51) and stolen bases (17). Sullivan also ranked in the Top 10 in the NE10 among those four categories while helping Southern Connecticut to a 29-16 overall record. 

The four 2022-23 CSC Academic All-Americans had an average GPA of 3.86. To view the full list of honorees, please see below.
