NE10 Women's Track & Field Teams of the Week: Bentley, Stonehill

NE10 Women's Track & Field Teams of the Week: Bentley, Stonehill

Each week for the remainder of the spring we will honor the seniors from two NE10 women's track & field programs as our teams of the week for each player's dedication to their program and teammates.

BENTLEY

Coach Kevin Curtin on his senior class - "Our senior class embodies what it means to be a student-athlete. We're graduating an All-Region XC runner and two school record holders but more importantly, last year 7 of our 9 seniors received the 2018-19 D2ADA Academic Achievement Awards. For four years, our seniors brought an enthusiasm to the team and helped to foster a culture of improvement and academic excellence and they'll be missed. For my part, I'm still hoping that I'll get one last chance at Commencement to thank them in person for their contributions to our program."

Season Recap
The Bentley women placed 10th at the 2020 NE10 Indoor Track & Field Championships in February. Abbie Newman was part of a relay which placed eighth in the 4x800 relay, while Kayla Fraser took ninth in the pentathlon with a new school-record score and achieved PR's in four of the five events.

STONEHILL

Coach Michael Delgado on his senior class - "This senior class, has never lost an NE10 Championship, indoor or outdoor, claiming seven NE10 Titles in their career. While I am very saddened that they will not be able to get the chance to compete for this year's outdoor championship, I could not be more proud of the way they finished their season by winning the indoor championship. I wish I could have them all back for another year as they are all tremendous competitors, and have left a big impact on our program."
