USTFCCCA RELEASE

Four NE10 Athletes Named All-American in Multiple Events.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference had 21 student-athletes named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Americans on Tuesday after outstanding performances during the 2020 indoor season.

There were 15 All-American selections for men's athletes and six for women's athletes, as the NE10 had eight different programs represented. Four student-athletes earned All-American status in multiple events.

American International's Benoit Campion and Leakey Kipkosgei were named All-Americans in three events each – the mile, distance medley relay and 3000 meter – leading all NE10 athletes. The Southern Connecticut men's team had the most athletes selected with seven, including Nigel Green in two events (200 meter, 4x400 relay).

On the women's side, American International led all NE10 programs with three selections. Additionally, Adelphi's Gabrielle Buissereth, the Track Athlete of the Meet at the NE10 Indoor Track & Field Championship, was selected in the 400 meter. Southern New Hampshire's Ashley Elder, the Field Athlete of the Meet at the league championship, was named All-American at shot put.

The USTFCCCA's normal policy dictates that All-America honors are awarded based on classifications of performance at the NCAA Championships. Due to the cancellation of the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, the Executive Committee adopted the following criteria:

  • Based on the posted startlist for the national championships announced by the NCAA, the following will be recognized as All-America for the 2020 indoor track & field season:
  • Individual events: ALL student-athletes listed on the startlist for the anticipated event.
  • Relay events: The four student-athletes per anticipated relay who produced the performance that was declared and accepted into their event.
  • There will not be a distinction of "first-team" or "second-team" to these recognitions.
