NE10 Men's Track & Field Teams of the Week: New Haven, Saint Rose

Saint Rose - New Haven - Teams of the Week

Each week for the remainder of the spring we will honor the seniors from two NE10 men's track & field programs as our teams of the week for each player's dedication to their program and teammates.

New Haven

Head Coach Shaunnaya Wiliams on her senior class – "Our men's senior student athletes have played a vital role in leading the team to an all-time best finish in conference since joining in 2008. This group of young men has consistently worked through adversity and challenges throughout the past four years. We are proud of their tenacity, resiliency and work ethic. Many of our senior athletes have set school records, achieved all region, and conference awards along the way. More importantly, these young men have succeeded above and beyond in the classroom and in the community. Although we did not get to see what they were able to achieve this spring, they should to be proud of what they accomplished during their tenure. Above all, this senior class is an extraordinary group of men with a bright future ahead of them. They will truly be missed."

Saint Rose

Head Coach Ray Putnam on his senior class – "The College of Saint Rose senior class is loaded with talented school record holders and above all else amazing leadership. Led by the leadership of Will Golder, who is on the all-time leaderboard for the shot put, the Saint Rose throwing program has grown immensely. Will has been a beacon of support for the young throwers through action, dedication, hard work and mentoring. In the sprints, senior Anthony Dawson, the school record holder in the 400m and 4x100m relay, was on track to qualify for nationals.   Our young distance running squad has been led by Nick Lee and Evan Ireland. Nick's leadership, dedication and hard work has been an inspiration for the distance program. Evan, one of the most improved track and field athletes in college history, has found himself on the leaderboard. The dedication of these young athletes has led to a growth in the track and field program from a sportsmanship and competitive standpoint that makes their coach extremely proud."
