NE10 Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week

Noah Taracena, Saint Michael's
Senior l Hamption, N.H.

Senior Noah Taracena (Hampton, N.H.) placed eighth among 202 runners at the James Earley Invitational on Saturday, finishing the 8K in a PR of 25:55.62. He helped the Purple Knights place sixth among 30 schools as the fastest NE10 runner among 33 in the field.


NE10 Women's Cross Country Athlete & Rookie of the Week

Tess Drury, Saint Michael's
Freshman l Richmond, Vt.

Freshman Tess Drury (Richmond, Vt.) won the 184-runner James Earley Invitational on Saturday with a 6K time of 22:19.99, the second-fastest 6K performance in program history. Drury won by 22.81 seconds in a race where the second- through sixth-place finishers were separated by 24.25 ticks. Drury's win was her third of the fall, setting a program record for freshmen, while the 184-runner field was the largest ever in a victory by a Purple Knight harrier. Saint Michael's took third among 30 schools.


NE10 Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week

Matt Speight, Southern Connecticut State
Freshman |  Burlington, Mass.

Speight was the second Owl to cross the finish line at the James Earley Invitational with a time of 27:06.32 and he also finished 45th out of 202 runners.

 

NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Joseph Carroll, Assumption (Jr., Cohasset, Mass.)
On Saturday, Carroll finished 13th at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championship. His time of 26:05.06 paced the Greyhounds to a ninth-place finish at the regional championship.

Caitlin Burmester, Bentley (Jr., Willow Grave, Penn.)
Burmester finished 15th at the New Englands with a time of 19:02.2. She was the first Division II runner to cross the finish line.

Sam Capobianco, Bentley (Jr., North Reading, Mass.)
Capobianco placed 8th out of 139 at the New Englands. His time of 25:58.6 made him the first Division II runner to cross the finish line.

Nora Conway, Saint Anselm (Jr., Stoneham, Mass.)
Conway led the Hawks on Saturday at the James Earley Invitational placing 21st out of 184 competitors in the varsity 6K race hosted by Westfield State University. This is the fourth consecutive meet that Conway has been the top finisher for the women's squad this season.

Steven Cormier, Saint Anselm (Jr., Reading Mass.)
Cormier led the men's team on Saturday with his 41st-place finish in the varsity 8K race at the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State University. This is the second consecutive meet that Cormier has been the top finisher for the Hawks this season.

Briana Grecco, Southern Cennecticut State (Jr., Thomaston, Conn.)
Grecco was the first Owl to cross the finish line at the Lewis Crossover Invitational with a time of 22:51.4.

William Lamburn, Southern Connecticut State (So., Northborough, Mass.)
At the Lewis Crossover Invitational, Lamburn was the first Owl to cross the finish line with a time of 25:16.2.
