Stedman of the University of New Haven football
program was named a finalist for the 2011 Gene Upshaw Division II
Lineman of the Year Award. Stedman was one of just three regional
winners to be named a national finalist.
The latest nomination is one of several postseason laurels for the
senior from Hasbrouck Heights, N.J. Stedman was named the 2011
Northeast-10 Conference Lineman of the Year, received New England
Football Writers Division II/III All-New England honors and earned
NE-10 First Team and Daktronics Division II All-Super Region 1
First Team Offense selections.
Stedman started all 13 games this season and anchored an offensive
line that led the NE-10 in scoring offense and ranked sixth
nationally with 40.23 points per game. New Haven’s offense
averaged 422.15 yards of total offense and 138.38 yards rushing.
The team ranked fifth nationally and earned a trip to the NCAA
Division II Quarterfinal Round.
