All four quarterfinal contests of the 2012 Northeast-10 Conference Men’s Soccer Championship took place on Wednesday, with three of the top four seeds advancing to the Semifinal Round.

#1 Merrimack 3, #8 American Int'l 1 - BOX

The top-seeded Warriors scored twice in the opening five minutes of the second half en route to a Quarterfinal win over American Int'l.

After the teams played a scoreless first half, Merrimack's Ronald Ried and Michael Buraczynski scored two goals early in the second half propelling the team to the Semifinal Round.

Tying a program record while extending its unbeaten streak to 12 consecutive games, the Warriors (13-2-2) advance to the semifinal round and will host fifth-seeded Franklin Pierce on Friday night at home, while the Yellow Jackets see their season end at 5-11-2 overall.

After neither side could find the back of the net in the first half despite 11 shot attempts between both teams, the Warriors scored early and often in the opening seven minutes of the second half, and despite an American Int'l goal in the 57th minute to cut the lead in half, the home side responded with their third goal of the game minutes later to regain the two-goal edge and cruise to their first playoff victory since the 2007 season.

#2 So. New Hampshire 5, #7 So. Connecticut 0 - BOX

Second-seeded So. New Hampshire got goals from five different players as it blanked seventh-seeded So. Connecticut in the Quarterfinals of the 2012 Northeast-10 Conference Championship.

The Penmen improved to 15-3 overall, while the Owls see their season come to a close at 8-7-1.

So. New Hampshire advances to Friday's semifinals, where it will host third-seeded UMass Lowell.  The Penmen defeated the River Hawks 3-0 in their matchup during the regular season.

So. New Hampshire scored twice in a 1:17 span early in the first half to take a 2-0 lead, and would never look back.

#3 UMass Lowell 3, #6 Le Moyne 1 - BOX

Junior midfielder Daniel Galvin scored two goals and sophomre forward Homero Morais converted a penalty kick as UMass Lowell defeated Le Moyne, 3-1, Wednesday afternoon in Northeast-10 Quarterfinal action.

The win sends UMass Lowell to the semifinal round Friday evening where they will take on second-seeded So. New Hampshire.  UMass Lowell improved to 13-4-1 on the season, while Le Moyne ends their season at 7-9-1.

#5 Franklin Pierce 3, #4 Bentley 0 - BOX

The Franklin Pierce University men's soccer team turned in an outstanding defensive effort, while blasting home timely second-half goals to pull off a satisfying 3-0 triumph at Bentley on Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the 2012 Northeast-10 Conference Championship in Waltham, Mass.

The Ravens improved to 11-4-2, while the Falcons dipped to 10-5-2.

Franklin Pierce limited Bentley to four shots over the 90 minutes of action and yielded zero shots on goal. In fact, only two players for the Falcons recorded shots as Franklin Pierce graduate goalkeeper Jake Wright did not need to make a save to run his record to 11-4-2 on the year with five shutouts.

The win marked Franklin Pierce's seventh-consecutive victory in the NE-10 Tournament as the Ravens are the two-time defending champions in the league. In fact, the last six wins in the current streak have come via shutouts for Franklin Pierce.
