Ravens Claimed Second NCAA Title in Program History in 2022.
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Reigning NCAA Division II champion Franklin Pierce has been selected as the unanimous favorite heading into the 2023 season, according to the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Soccer Coaches' Poll announced on Tuesday afternoon.
It is the third-straight year that the Ravens have been chosen first by NE10 head coaches, as they tallied 100 points and 10 first-place votes - the maximum amount allowed with coaches being unable to vote for their own teams. Now under first-year head coach Travis Brent, Franklin Pierce looks to continue its recent success - which includes two-straight NE10 titles.
Franklin Pierce won the 2022 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship in undefeated fashion, posting a 25-0-1 record throughout the season, which culminated with a 2-0 victory over Colorado St.-Pueblo in the championship game at Interbay Stadium in Seattle, Wash. on Dec. 3. It was the second-ever NCAA title for the Ravens' men's soccer program, which last became national champions in 2007.
Southern New Hampshire and Adelphi - both NE10 semifinalists in 2022 - tied for second in the NE10 Men's Soccer Coaches' Poll with 78 points, while the Penmen captured the final first-place vote. The next three teams - Southern Connecticut (66 points), Saint Rose (63 points) and Assumption (62 points) - were separated by just four points.
