Panthers enter championship play 16-0 overall
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Adelphi University (16-0, 12-0 NE-10) has garnered the regular-season title and top seed in the 2014 Northeast-10 Conference Women's Lacrosse Championship after going unbeaten in its 16 contests, including all 12 league games.
The Panthers received a first-round bye as a result and will host the Northeast-10 Championship semifinals and title game on Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, May 4 in Garden City, N.Y.
The University of New Haven (15-2, 11-1 NE-10) received the No. 2 seed after a stellar regular-season campaign and advance into Saturday's semifinals at Adelphi.
In a pair of first-round contests on Wednesday, April 30, third-seeded Saint Anselm (12-3, 9-3 NE-10) will welcome sixth-seeded Bentley University (8-7, 7-4 NE-10) at 4:00 p.m. and fourth-seeded Stonehill College (11-6, 9-3 NE-10) will get set to host fifth-seeded Le Moyne College (12-4, 9-3 NE-10) at 7:00 p.m.
The championship contest at Adelphi next weekend will be broadcast online at no cost at northeast10.tv.
The Northeast-10 Conference is an association of 15 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that is committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for more than 6,000 student-athletes. Each year, 4,000 of those student-athletes compete in conference championships in 23 sports, making the NE-10 the largest DII conference in the country in terms of sport sponsorship.
