WALTHAM, Mass. - Bentley University has announced the hiring of Kerry Hausdorf as its new head women's lacrosse coach, effective immediately. Hausdorf comes to Bentley after two seasons as the head coach at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I.

Hausdorf replaces Carissa Medeiros, who took the head coach position at Division I UMass Lowell following six seasons at Bentley.

"I am honored to have been selected as the head women's lacrosse coach at Bentley," Hausdorf said. "I would like to thank Director of Athletics Bob DeFelice for this opportunity. It is a privilege to be part of an institution with such excellent academic and athletic traditions."

Hausdorf guided Roger Williams, which competes in the Commonwealth Coast Conference, to the conference playoffs in both seasons at the helm. In her first season (2012), she led RWU to a road playoff win while coaching three All-Conference performers.

Prior to arriving at Roger Williams, Hausdorf spent two seasons as the head coach at Queens (N.Y.), which included coaching the Knights during their inaugural varsity season of 2010. She led Queens to a seven-win improvement during her second season in 2011.

Before becoming the head coach at Queens, Hausdorf was an assistant coach at Northeast-10 rival American International for the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

A 2004 graduate of Springfield College, Hausdorf was a three-year member of the women's lacrosse team as a defenseman, and rose to team captain as a senior. She earned her Master's Degree in Athletic Administration from Springfield in 2009.

Hausdorf takes over a Bentley program that has gone to the Northeast-10 playoffs in five of the last six years, and finished last season ranked No. 14 in Division II by the IWLCA. Eighteen players are expected back from last year's team, including four All-Conference players, that went 11-7 overall and 9-3 in NE-10 play.
