NE10 Player of the Week

Rachel Vitko, Bentley
Junior | Outside Hitter | Dover, N.H.

Vitko had a big weekend in helping Bentley sweep the IVHOF East Region Clash. In three matches she averaged 4.11 kills per set and hit .384. In wins over Saint Anselm and Molloy on Friday she was highly efficient with a .423 hitting percentage and 14 kills against the Hawks and .444 and 15 kills against Molloy.

NE10 Libero of the Week

Barbara Illig, Assumption
Junior | Defensive Specialist | Delaware, Ohio

Illig ran her 20+ digs streak to four games, as she averaged 5.23 digs per set on the week while only having four errors in 82 attempts. She helped the Greyhounds go 2-1 on the week. Illig currently ranks fourth in the NE10 with 5.17 digs per set. 

NE10 Setter of the Week

Alice Di Francesco, American International
Junior | Setter | Capelle Sul Tavo, Italy

Di Francesco dished assist after assist in the IVHOF East Region Clash, totaling 94 across three matches and earning All-Tournament honors. She added in 31 digs and four blocks as well as seven kills and six aces. 

NE10 Rookie of the Week

Karielys Melendez, Pace
Freshman | Outside Hitter | Toa Baja, Puerto Rico

Melendez recorded 30 kills (4.29 per set) and 15 digs (2.14 per set) in a 2-0 week for Pace. She had 16 kills and a .324 attack percentage with seven digs in a 3-2 win over Queens (NY) and posted 14 kills on a .346 attack percentage with eight digs in a 3-0 sweep of Caldwell. 

NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Jamie Yonker, Adelphi (Gr., Libero - Old Bethpage, N.Y.)
Not only did the two-time defending NE10 Libero of the Year average an astounding 5.18 digs per set, Yonker also made the initial clean pass with only one reception error in 43 total chances, in a 3-0 weekend for Adelphi. Her efforts helped send the Panthers to another two regional victories, including a three-set sweep of reigning ECC champion Daemen. 

Perla Rosa, American Int'l (So., DS - Weston, Fla.)
Rosa was a defensive stalwart for AIC in a sweep of the IVHOF East Region Clash. She totaled 55 digs, five per set, and 88 receptions for the Yellow Jackets.

Amber Williams, American Int'l (Jr., Middle Blocker - Lilburn, Ga.)
Williams was AIC's star in a sweep of the IVHOF East Region Clash. She racked up 22 kills on 35 swings for a .543 attack percentage in the three wins, never hitting below .500, and also recorded 9 blocks in the wins. She earned All-Tournament honors for her efforts. 

Jazzy Burke, Bentley (Jr., DS - Lake George, N.Y.)
Burke averaged 4.75 digs per set in Bentley's sweep of the IVHOF East Region Clash. She had 19 digs in a 3-1 win over Saint Anselm and 14 digs in a 3-0 sweep of Molloy.

Jamie Bittiger, Pace (Gr., L - Saylorsburg, Pa.)
Bittiger posted 4.38 digs per set with four service aces in a 2-0 week for Pace. She tallied 19 digs in a 3-2 win over Queens (NY) and 16 digs in a 3-0 sweep of Caldwell. 

Brielle Jones, Pace (Gr., OH - Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.)
In a 2-0 week for Pace, Jones averaged 3.50 kills per set with a .328 attack percentage, while also posting 3.13 digs per set. She had a double-double of 15 kills and 17 digs in a 3-2 win over Queens (NY), while following the performance with 13 kills , eight digs and four service aces in a 3-0 sweep of Caldwell. 

Abigail Macalaguim, Saint Anselm (So., S - Chula Vista, Calif.)
The sophomore earned All-Tournament recognition at the 2023 IVHOF DII East Region Clash hosted by American International College, tallying 135 helpers over four matches, helping the Hawks to a 2-2 weekend. The sophomore added 13 service aces including a match-high six in the team's 3-0 victory over Molloy. Macalaguim added 13 kills, 35 digs and five blocks over the four matches for Saint Anselm.

Sara Enright, Southern Conn. St. (Sr., OH - Yorba Linda, Calif.)
Enright had 10 kills, 10 digs, a service ace and a block assist at Mercy; recorded seven kills, seven digs and two service aces against Post; had 15 kills, eight digs, four service aces and one solo block against Assumption; had 10 kills, 18 digs, a service ace and a block assist at Queens College. Enright had two double-doubles, 2.80 kills per set, 2.87 digs per set and accumulated 52 points in the 3-1 week for the Owls.

Aubrey Villena, Southern Conn. St. (So., L - San Diego, Calif.)
Villena had 10 digs against Mercy, recorded 10 digs and two service aces against Post, had a season-best of 23 digs and two service aces against Assumption and had 15 digs, a career-best of three kills and two service aces at Queens College. Villena recorded 3.87 digs per set in a 3-1 week for the Owls.
