NE10 Player of the Week

Lilyen McCarthy, Adelphi
Junior | Middle Blocker | Mackinaw, Ill.

With the Panthers a win away from securing their first NE10 regular season championship since 2015, McCarthy led all players with 36 kills (4.00 kills per set) across three matches, committing only four errors for a sizzling .478 hitting percentage. McCarthy finished in double figures in all three matches, including an 11-kill outing against New Haven last Tuesday (Oct. 31) in a showdown for first place in the NE10 standings. 

NE10 Libero of the Week

Jamie Yonker, Adelphi
Graduate Student | Libero | Old Bethpage, N.Y.

A two-time NE10 Libero of the Week, Yonker amassed 40 digs and averaged 4.44 digs per set in three crucial wins for the Panthers. She even tacked on 13 assists and four aces to her resume last week. Yonker finished in double figures in digs in all three matches, highlighted by 16 digs in a sweep of New Haven that propelled the Panthers to first place in the NE10 standings.

NE10 Setter of the Week

Brenna Valsted, Adelphi
Graduate Student | Setter | Louisville, Ky.

Valsted averaged a spectacular 12.5 assists per set in a 3-0 week for the Panthers that has them on the doorstep of winning an NE10 regular-season title. She set a total of 113 assists across only nine sets and almost successfully converted half her total sets into points, at a success rate of .447. She eclipsed 30 or more assists in all three matches -- including her second-highest single-game mark with 41 at Franklin Pierce on Friday.

NE10 Rookie of the Week

Yasmeen Muhammad, Pace
Freshman | Middle Blocker | Shoreline, Wash. 

Muhammad hit .446 this week in a 1-1 week for Pace. In the Setters' loss to SNHU, Muhammad provided 12 kills and six blocks, three solo and three assists. In a win over Franklin-Pierce, Muhammad compiled 18 kills with two blocks and three digs.

NE10 Weekly Honor Roll 

Alice Di Francesco, American Int'l (Jr., S - Pescara, Italy)
Di Francesco continued to pile up assists and digs as she helped AIC to a 2-0 week with a 51-10 showing at Franklin Pierce and a 41-13 performance at Saint Michael's, an average of 10.22 assists and 2.56 digs per set on the week. 

Aleksandra Ivanovic, American Int'l (Jr., MB - Belgrade, Serbia)
Ivanovic was the key to AIC's two NE10 wins on the week. She led the Yellow Jackets with 19 kills and three blocks in a 5-set thriller at Franklin Pierce, acing match point, and followed with seven kills and six blocks along with three aces in a 4-set win at Saint Michael's. On the week, she averaged 4.0 points per set, a team high. 

Michelle Henwood, New Haven (Sr., S - Guaynabo, Puerto Rico)
Henwood finished a two-match week for the Chargers with 56 assists and was tied for the team-lead with 25 digs while adding seven kills and three service aces. She opened up the week with five kills and a .444 attack percentage to go along with 27 assists and six digs against Adelphi. In the second match of the week she finished with a pair of kills in three attempts while dishing out 29 assists and finishing with a team-high 19 digs and three aces against the crosstown rival Owls.

Alexandra Báez Rentas, St. Michael's (Jr., S - San Juan, Puerto Rico)
Báez Rentas recorded 33 assists, 17 digs and two kills in a 3-1 loss to regionally-ranked AIC on Saturday, averaging 8.3 assists and 4.3 digs per set.

Ella Koelb, Southern N.H. (So., S - Auburn. N.H.)
Koelb amassed 98 assists (8.91 a/s), five aces (0.45 sa/s) and 19 digs (1.73 d/s) during a 2-1 week for the Penmen. Koelb notched 36 assists, two aces and six digs in a 3-1 win at Saint Anselm on Tuesday and added 42 assists, an ace, eight digs and two blocks in a four-set victory over Pace on Friday. 

Ana Pimenta, Southern N.H. (R-Sr., OH - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)
Pimenta totaled 36 kills (3.27 k/s), 30 digs (2.73 d/s) and 11 blocks (1.00 b/s) during a 2-1 week for the Penmen. Pimenta was huge in a crucial, 3-1 victory at Saint Anselm on Tuesday with 15 kills (.324), 11 digs and four blocks. She posted 17 kills (.263), 13 digs and four more blocks in a four-set win against Pace on Friday.

Deanne Wilson, Southern N.H. (Jr., L - Buffalo, N.Y.)
Wilson racked up 66 digs (4.27 d/s) in a 2-1 week for SNHU. She had 20 digs in a four-set triumph over Saint Anselm on Tuesday and collected 19 more in a 3-1 win over Pace on Friday.
