Le Moyne Picked to Repeat in NE10 Men’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Poll

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dolphins Look to Repeat as NE10 Champions

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Reigning NE10 Champion Le Moyne was selected first the NE10 Men's Lacrosse Coaches' Poll for the second straight year, as announced by the conference on Thursday afternoon.

The Dolphins secured ten of 11 first place votes for 110 total points and are the reigning NE10 Champions after taking down Adelphi 11-9 for the 2019 Title. Le Moyne is also currently ranked first in the latest USILA National Poll. The Panthers received the other first place vote and finished with 101 points overall to place second in the poll, as they sit fifth in USILA's national poll.

Pace, ranked 10th in the nation, earned 92 points to take third in the poll, followed by No. 18 Saint Anslem with 82 points. Bentley (73) and Assumption (64) rounded out the top six in the poll. Saint Rose was selected seventh with 57 points, followed by Franklin Pierce (40), Southern New Hampshire (39), Saint Michael's (36) and AIC (21).

Le Moyne was 4-0 last year before the season was canceled, highlighted by a 12-11 victory over No. 9 Mercy. Adelphi, meanwhile, was ranked 9th after a pair of losses to nationally ranked teams. Saint Anselm was a perfect 3-0 and No. 18 nationally.

Adelphi, Le Moyne and Merrimack all tied atop the conference standings in 2019 with matching 10-1 records. Adelphi earned the top seed and Le Moyne the second due to tiebreaking procedures. Both reached the title game, but it was the Dolphins who won 11-9 on the road. However, Merrimack went on a run in the NCAA Tournament to capture their second straight national championship and finish the year ranked first nationally. Le Moyne was ranked third and Adelphi No. 4, while Pace (13), Bentley (18) and Saint Anselm (20) all finished the year among the top-20.

The first non-conference contest of the year already took place as Pace fell to Division I Boston University 15-2. Conference play begins on March 20, highlighted by top ranked Le Moyne facing Assumption and Adelphi squaring off against Bentley. The regular season concludes on April 24. The dates for the NE10 Women's Lacrosse Championship will be announced later in March, along with plans for postseason format, seeding and tiebreakers.
