Saint Anselm Secures Top Seed in NE10 Men's Lacrosse Championship

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Saint Anselm Earns NE10 Top Seed for First Time

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Saint Anselm has earned the top seed in the upcoming Northeast-10 Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship as announced by the conference office on Saturday evening, after posting a perfect 10-0 record in conference play this season.

The Hawks and Le Moyne both went undefeated in NE10 action this year and both are recognized as Regular Season Champions. Saint Anselm secured the top seed over the Dolphins, who went 8-0 in the NE10, due to tiebreaking procedures. The teams didn't face each other during the regular season and Saint Anselm's higher conference win total proved to be the deciding tiebreaker in determining the top seed.

As announced on April 1, all NE10 teams will qualify for postseason play. For seedings and matchups for the 2021 NE10 Men's Lacrosse Championship, please see the schedule below for dates and times of the first round, semifinals and championship final.

This marks the first time in program history Saint Anselm has earned the top seed in the NE10 Tournament as they look to make the program's second trip to the NE10 Title game. Le Moyne, meanwhile, concluded its regular season undefeated for the 17th time in program history and are the reigning NE10 Champions. Both teams will play in the NE10 Quarterfinals on May 1.

Conference winning percentage was the metric used to determine championship seeding, as not all teams played the same number of contests due to COVID-19 protocols.

Adelphi earned the No. 3 seed thanks to its 6-1 NE10 record, while Bentley secured the fourth seed with a 6-3 mark. Pace earned the No. 5 seed over Southern New Hampshire though both had matching 5-5 records, thanks to tiebreakers. Each of the top five seeds earn a bye to the NE10 Quarterfinals.

The three first round matchups take place on Wednesday, April 28, beginning with No. 9 Assumption traveling to face No. 8 Saint Michael's. Seventh seeded Franklin Pierce hosts No. 10 Saint Rose, while No. 11 American International travels to No. 6 Southern New Hampshire.
