Le Moyne’s Matt Hutchings Highlights NE10 Men’s Lacrosse All-Conference Honorees

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Top Seed Saint Anselm Leads All Schools With Three Major Award Honorees

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Le Moyne's Matt Hutchings claimed 2021 Northeast-10 Men's Lacrosse Player of the Year honors as the league announced its major award winners and all-conference selections on Thursday afternoon. For a complete list of honorees, as voted on by NE10 coaches, see below.

Hutchings has led the Dolphins to perfect 9-0 record this season and is one of nine All-Conference selections who helped them secure the No. 2 seed in the NE10 Tournament. He finished the season with 22 points on nine goals and 13 assists, while helping to orchestrate an offense which ranked second in the NE10 in scoring (14.8), despite missing multiple contests. He opened the year with five assists in a win over Adelphi.

Top seed Saint Anselm had three major award winners, led by NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year CJ Hart, NE10 Co-Rookie of the Year Jack Andrews and NE10 Coach of the Year Michael Sciamanna. Pace had a pair of major award honorees in NE10 Co-Rookie of the Year Anthony Caputo and NE10 Defensive Player of the Year Daniel Lewis.

Hart currently leads the nation in GAA (4.71) while also recording a nation-best save percentage of .667. His strongest performance came against Franklin Pierce as he stopped 15 shots and allowed just six goals. Andrews ranked third in the conference in scoring this year, posting 28 goals and dishing off eight assists with 12 ground balls. He had at least four points in eight of ten games, including six on two goals and four assists in the regular season finale at SNHU. Sciammana, meanwhile, led the Hawks to their first Regular Season Title in program history with a 10-0 record and they have won 13 straight overall. Over the last four seasons he has a 31-12 overall record and one NE10 Runner-Up finish.

Caputo has been a force for the Setters in the midfield, scoring 18 goals with seven assists for 25 points. His breakout game came in Pace's first matchup against Le Moyne as he scored four goals with one assist. Lewis, meanwhile, anchored the defense and ranks third nationally in caused turnovers per game with 2.9 and 31 total. He also has 32 ground balls and two goals, and in a matchup against top-ranked Le Moyne he totaled eight caused turnovers with three ground balls.

Third seed Adelphi also totaled nine all-conference selections, highlighted by Nicolas Racalbuto, John Arcidiacono, Justin Napolitano and Sean McGovern all on the first team. Bentley, meanwhile, had seven players named all-conference after securing the No. 4 seed in the tournament.
