Southern Connecticut’s Cswerko Wins Men's 200 Fly National Title at NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships

GENEVA, Ohio – Southern Connecticut State University junior Raymond Cswerko won the men's 200 fly with a time of 1:46.25 Friday night to win the individual national title in the event at the 2014 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships.

Cswerko (pictured), now a national champion, also finished fifth with a time of 1:46.95 in the 200 IM on Wednesday and second with a time of 3:51.83 in the 400 IM finals on Thursday. He now has four All-America honors for his career.

Cswerko finished off this year’s championships by finishing in 18th place in the 200 breaststroke on Saturday morning in his final event at NCAAs.

Northeast-10 student-athletes have also had plenty of success on the board in Geneva.

Bentley University sophomore diver Nicola Mancini earned her third career All-America award Friday night after taking fifth in the women's one-meter with a score of 453.70.

Her second career All-America honor came Wednesday evening when she placed seventh in the three-meter diving during the opening day of the NCAA Championships at the Spire. Mancini broke the school record of 449.10 in both sessions as she recorded a score of 456.50 during the prelims and bettered that with a 469.85 in the finals. 

Southern Connecticut State University junior diver Jessica Renzo earned All-American Honors as well in the women’s three-meter diving event, finishing 12th after totaling 413.75 points. In Friday’s one-meter prelims, Renzo finished 20th with a score of 386.50.

Le Moyne College sophomore Josh Byrne finished 15th in the men’s one-meter finals, posting a score of 419.85.
